St. Petersburg's Water Attractions

No need to book tickets to a tropical island to find a bit of summer.
In St. Petersburg, summer is surprisingly always nearby if you know where to look.

Piterland Waterpark

Piterland Waterpark

Tired of being stuck inside with either the lovely grey atmosphere and snow of winter or the hot, non-airconditioned summer months? Grab your friends and family and head out to the Piterland Waterpark that’s sure to be a ‘cool’ experience.

Housed in a huge dome on the Gulf of Finland, Piterland is a tropical oasis filled with all manner of watery delights. In the main area, there are five exciting waterslides, three pools, numerous jacuzzis and a wave pool. There’s even a disco pool and a dive pool with a depth of 6 meters, which is great for both beginners and pros.

Kids have a whole island to themselves to explore which includes a gigantic pirate ship. This area is a fun and safe place for little ones to have fun in the water, complete with mini-waterslides, mazes, climbing frames and even water guns.

If you want a place to wind down after all the excitement of the main waterpark, you are in luck. There are no fewer than ten saunas and steam rooms for you to choose from. These include a Russian sauna, Finnish sauna, Roman baths and Turkish baths, among others. There is also a spa which offers a huge variety of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments so you can really ‘get away from it all’.

Refreshments can be found at Pirate Bay, which offers everything from light snacks to full meals. There are many healthy options too, including a ‘Phyto menu’ with a range of steamed food. If you fancy a cocktail or a beer after all the fun on the slides, there is always the Octopus bar. Here you can buy light snacks and desserts, as well as three types of beer from Piterland’s very own brewery. The best part of it all.. there’s even a Baskin Robbins on campus so you can really cool down.

Dolphins are highly intelligent, playful and sociable often seeking out human companionship. There are century-old tales of dolphins befriending humans. Even in the Hermitage is a 16th-century sculpture by Lorenzetto of a boy and a dolphin who shared a bond.

The Dolphinarium houses 2 types of dolphins,  beluga whales, walruses and sea lions who all perform impressive stunts. As well as displaying stunning acrobatic abilities, some of the animals can also paint!

Meet them after the show for a photo op. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even book a session swimming with the dolphins! For more on this, see the Tip section below.

Before and after the performance, you can chill out in the onsite cafe, which offers meals and light snacks. There is also a gift shop selling souvenirs, where you can find a memento from the time you made friends with a dolphin.
